High heels, high heels, why gals need high heels..

October 7th, 2008

As I mentioned before, I hate high heels. But as a girl, you will need to have at least a pair of high heels for some special occasions. When I said high heels, I mean those 2 inches and above one lar, not those 1 inch one..

Recently, I was forced to get myself a pair of really high, high heels. How come I said really high? Cos I never wear such high heels before in my whole life! Normally when I shop for heels, the most is 2 inches, will not go more than that!! But this time, I will need something higher, higher and higher…

I never thought it would be that difficult to shop for a pair of high heel. After 3 hours (going to ALL shops that sell shoes), I managed to find one with perfect height and perfect color, just the price not perfect. ~sigh…

The high heel, with perfect height and perfect color but not perfect price. From Vinci Plus, RM 100+ (yes, it's expensive.. I wonder how many times will I wear..)

Need help!! Any recommendations please?

October 6th, 2008

A lot of my readers asked me how come I stopped posting about my HK trip? Well, I didn’t plan to stop for so long, it’s just that I’m having some problems with my pictures. What is the problem? All my pictures size are rather big and although it looks nice and clear on the site but it makes my site loads very slow. A lot of people complaint about it and I decided to resize my pictures before I upload it.

So I’ve searched and tried a few software (including some wordpress plugins), although I’m able to resize the pictures, add watermarks on it and my site loads fast, but the picture quality is very bad, especially those night views!! You guys got any recommendation for me? A simple and nice and easy tool to resize, add watermarks to pictures and most importantly the quality of the pictures still there?

Please let me know if you have any, thank you thank you!!

~sigh, I should probably start eating ginkgo biloba!!

September 30th, 2008

I often get a lot of ideas on what to blog about when I’m driving back home from work. Why? I also not sure, maybe because during jam my brain works well? hehe, anyway, I always get a lot of blogging ideas and I’m happy because that means I won’t have nothing to write, nothing to post!!

However, when I’m sitting in front of my notebook and wanted to start to blog, my mind became blank. All the blogging ideas gone! I remembered I did think of some topics to write but somehow I just can’t seems to remember anymore!! Argggggg…Does that mean I have to have my notebook standby while I was driving, so that I can start writing when I get the idea?

Maybe I should start eating ginkgo biloba, that’s good for the memory right?

Have you tried calling/email Air Asia support?

September 29th, 2008

I really hate calling support line, credit card, telekom, bank, it’s all the same. You have to wait for a long long time, wasting your money and if you are lucky, someone answered your call, else you will be disconnected automatically after holding for a long time. Then you have to start calling all over again…

Among all the support line, I think the worst is the Air Asia support. They don’t answer to emails, they don’t answer to phone calls, I wonder did anybody successfully called the Air Asia support line and actually got people answered their call? FL had been calling the Air Asia since 2 weeks ago, but till now, nobody answered his call!! The phone is either engage or he hold until the call got disconnected by itself. I tried to send an email to Air Asia two weeks ago (since nobody answer the call I decided to try the email) but till now also no reply. They don’t reply emails, they don’t answer calls, do they really have support at all?

Not only FL, I got a few friends also said they never successfully called Air Asia before cos nobody picked up their calls!! Have you tried calling Air Asia, did anybody answer your call? If yes,can give me the number or not?

Fuel prices down by 10sen, it’s RM 2.45 per litre now!!

September 24th, 2008

Despite the global market price of petrol increased 20++ dollars yesterday, our petrol price still decreased. Hmm, it’s a good news isn’t it? Although only 10 cents decrement (RM 2.45 per litre) and it doesn’t really help much, but I think it is really better than nothing lar.. I actually thought the price would remained the same cos of the global market price increased, luckily..

Sometimes I think we are really pathetic, drop little bit only and we all so happy. Guess it’s because everything else is up and we couldn’t afford to see something goes UP again lar.. u agree with me?

So don’t pump petrol tonite ya.. pump tomorrow, save urself a little bit of money. hehe..

Petrol price.. Up or Down?

September 23rd, 2008

We all put high hopes on the petrol price to go down by the end of this month. We are actually quite sure that the price will go down, well, maybe not as low as previous but any decrement would be nice! There are just a few more days to go before we reached month end but suddenly today, the price of the petrol goes up for 20++ dollars!! Oh my…

I guess we can’t put too much hope for the petrol price to decrease by the end of the month lar. ~sigh.. let’s just hope it won’t increase some more…

Have you received your HSBC RM 10 StarBucks Coffee Gift Certificate?

September 23rd, 2008

When I saw a letter from HSBC lying in my mailbox today, I thought it’s the statement of account. But when I took out from the letter box, I knew it’s not, why? The size doesn’t seems right, statement of account normally it’s half of the A4 size, not that small…

I opened up the letter and found nothing but this..

RM 10 StarBucks Gift Certificate

RM 10 StarBucks Gift Certificate

Rm 10 StarBucks coffee gift certificate from HSBC? oo, now I remember, there’s a promotion going on last month, if we swiped more than Rm 30 we are entitled for the RM 10 StarBucks gift certificate. Not bad wor, so fast HSBC sent it to us!!

Did you swipe your HSBC card last month? Have you get your StarBucks Coffee gift certificate?

You want to open a saving account? Answer all these questions first!!

September 19th, 2008

I remembered last time when I opened saving accounts, all I need to do is to deposit a RM 10, fill up a simple form and done! I got my saving book, atm card and everything within 20 minutes! Ya, RM 10 probably is a long long time ago, the most recent account I opened at HSBC few years ago, I need to deposit RM 250 but still, the procedure is the same, filled up a simple form and I get everything within an hour. I thought every bank is the same but it seems like it’s NOT.

A colleague of mine recently went to Maybank to open a saving account. Before she get the application form, they told her in order to open a saving account in this area, you must either lived around here (will follow the address from ur IC or you can bring the water and electricity bill to prove) or study/work around here. If you work around here, you have to get a letter from your company to prove that. This colleague of mine worked part time in my office, so basically she can’t apply the saving account at the Maybank near my office. So she decided to open the saving account near where she study, which is at Sunway.

She thought after she filled up the form, deposited RM 250, prove them that she’s currently studying at that area, they should have no more questions but she’s wrong. The maybank staff asked her a lot of questions such as, why you want to open the saving account? which college you’re in? what course you’re taking? What is your relationship with this person stated on the water bill (the address she entered is different from the IC so she need to prove she’s staying there)? The house buy or rent? How many ppl staying in that house? and a whole lot of other questions!!

When she told me about this, I was kind of shocked. I want to open a saving account only leh, need to ask SO MANY questions meh, some more some of the questions doesn’t seems to relate to the saving account also..

Any of you encountered this? Is it only Maybank or other banks also practising this? Luckily I already have an account with Maybank, else I will be very frusfrated if I need to open one!!

September 16th, 2008

My brother just called me just now to ask me whether I have plans during the raya holidays or not. He plan to come to KL gai gai and will stay at my place. So I told him I’m not going anywhere and he can come if he wants to.

So this time, I need to think where to go and what to eat so that when he ask me the same questions again, I won’t need to answer him with the same answers (I think he will kill me if I give him the same answers again)!

So any suggestions ar? Where to go? (genting canot lar, too many ppl i think..) What to eat?

Stanley Market (赤柱)

September 8th, 2008

After having our satisfying dim sum lunch, FL’s friend suggested to go to Stanley Market (赤柱). Frankly speaking, we didn’t plan to go to the Stanley market as it’s quite far away from town and we actually plan to go to some shopping center to shop. But since he kept saying Stanley market is worth to go (he stayed there for a week before he started work in HK), why not (it’s quite famous also mar).

We took the mini bus (small van) from the Central to the Stanley market. How long is the journey, it’s about half an hour or so (sorry, can’t really remember how long.. ). We used the octopus card to pay for the bus fare (can’t remember how much also, i think it’s HKD 17, i THINK.. :p). The bus is very clean and the air con is cool.

Mini Bus (小巴/van仔)

Mini Bus (小巴/van仔)

See the digit 54? It’s actually the speed of the bus, if the driver is speeding, you can actually complaint!! cool huh..

On our way to the ‘Chek Chu’, we passed by both ’sam shui wan’ 深水湾 and ‘qin shui wan’ 浅水湾. What’s the difference between these two places? One is for not so rich ppl and the other one is solely for rich ppl, ’sam shui wan’ a lot of outside ppl (the people there purposely take bus from town to go to the beach) where else the ‘qin shui wan’ is mainly for rich ppl (you can really see a lot nice cars there), the ppl who stayed there. According to our friend, a lot of famous firm star houses are in this area.

Nice sea view

Nice sea view!

Nice!!

Is this sam shui wan or qin shui wan? I also dono, hehe..

The building with a whole!!

The building with a whole!!

FL told me why this building is built with a hole in the middle. He said these ppl keep having problems when building this place so they decided to seek help from a feng shui sifu. This feng shui sifu said if they want to build the building, they must leave a hole in the middle so the dragon can go over. So there you go, a hole in the middle.. (also dono FL got bs or not.. hehe..)

The Street

Finally, we are here! This is the main street! A lot of foregners.

Stanley Market Road (市场道)

Stanley Market Road (市场道)

Let's shop!!

This is the famous stanley market? Not much ppl, not much things to see also.. not really worth the time to purposely come in here..

I’m actually quite disappointed with this place. There’s really nothing much to see or to shop. I also not sure why FL’s friend recommend this place to us. We’re basically done after half an hour and we decided to stop by and have a drink at McCafe (the mcDonald which sells only coffee but no burgers!).

If you asked me, is it worth to come, I shall say, if you got time, you can come, but if you don’t have much time, don’t come lar..

My 5 years old little girl, Jirot

September 4th, 2008

Finally after 2 weeks submitting application to sponsor a child @ World Vision, I received a snail mail from them. I’m very excited, I’m going to get a photo of my sponsored child. A boy or a girl? From Indonesia or China or Thailand or Vietnam?

My 5 yrs old sponsored gal, Jirot from Indonesia. leng lui leh...

Actually I wanted to sponsor a child long long time ago but I thought it will costs a lot and I’m afraid I might  not be able to take up this commitment until I finally go check out their website. We only need to pay Rm 50 per month to sponsor a kid, RM 50 per month to us probably is nothing (go out makan RM 50 already gone lar..) but to them, it’s a lot. This RM 50 per month can probably changed their life!! They can have education, a better environment and improve the health status of the community.

Think about it, check out World Vision and I’m sure you will want to sponsor a child when you see how RM 50 can make a difference for them.

16 September a Public Holiday?

September 4th, 2008

There has been a discussion on this recently. Should the gov declare 16 September as a public holiday? You probably will asked why should we declare 16 September as a public holiday. Well, 16 September is our Hari Malaysia (You don’t know right, me don’t know either. :p) and it seems like most of us don’t aware of that.

To me (as an employee), I think it should. haha, it’s true mar, when you declare it as Public Holiday, people will get to know about this day (like Thaipusam, Wilayah day and etc etc etc, if no holiday you will remember meh?). So if you want people to know and remember 16 of September is Hari Malaysia, then declare it as a public holiday. (employers, don’t throw eggs on me ya.. hehe..)

you agree or not?

Golden Bauhinia Square (金紫荆广场)

September 3rd, 2008

We went back to our hotel to put down the things we bought at G2000. At first we didn’t plan to go back but it was really inconvenient carrying such as big and heavy plastic bag (ya, i bought A LOT), so we decided to go back to put down the things and to take a shower as well. It was 12+pm when we headed out again. FL meet up with his college friend who is currently working in HK. At first we hope he can bring us around but then we realized he still not very familiar with HK and had not been to lot’s of places. So instead of bringing us, we actually go sight seeing together with maps on our hands and he took this opportunity to visit these places as well.

After we meet up with him at the MTR station, the first place we visited is this..

Golden Bauhinia Square (金紫荆广场)

Golden Bauhinia Square (金紫荆广场)

It suppose to be near but there was a huge book fair somewhere near there and they blocked some of the way so ended up we took a big big round to get there. We walked for almost 30 minutes under the hot sun to get there and we only spent about 3 minutes there and took 3 pictures.

We planned to go to the Peak at night and FL’s friend told us it is cheaper to get the tickets from the travel agency than to get the tickets at The Peak. Therefore we took the tram (so lazy to walk lar) to the travel agency at Central (中环).

Tram (电车)

After 10 or 15 minutes, we finally reached our destination. On our way to the travel agency, we passed by this…

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (香港赛马会)

FL decided to go try his luck, if win got dono how many millions leh.. hehe..

According to FL’s friend, you strike if you win 4 numbers per row, but not sure how much lar.. So did we win? Of cause not lar, else I probably still in HK shopping!!

Finally we found the travel agency. We asked for the ticket price for The Peak + Madame Tussauds (香港杜莎夫人蜡像馆), Disneyland and Ngong Ping (昂坪), but seems like only the Peak + Madame Tussauds tickets are worth to buy. Original ticket selling HKD 170 but we only bought it for HKD 138!!

It was almost 3pm after we bought the tickets and we still have not had our lunch yet. FL’s friend suggested to go eat Dim Sum, yummy yummy. Of cause I wanna try HK dim sum and there we go!! We went to the Hong Kong Dim Sum @ Ka Ho Restaurant (香港点心 - 嘉豪酒家) at a few blocks away.

We are not close but because I’m getting married, we are best friends now!!

September 2nd, 2008

Have this ever happened to you? You met this friend don’t know from where and never contacted each other for a long long long time. Suddenly he/she called you, or msn you or sms you and invite you to his/her wedding dinner? I bet you do right?

Recently FL attended a wedding dinner from a friend that he didn’t contact for a long long time. This friend suddenly added him in msn about 2 months ago and asking him to attend to his wedding dinner in hometown (which is fine). Since I only met this guy once and didn’t really have a very good impression on him, I told FL I don’t want to follow. So he told his friend only he himself will attend the dinner.

About a month ago while we were in Hong Kong, FL received sms from this friend again asking him whether he’s bringing partner or not. although FL already told him I’m not attending but still, FL replied him politely (ya, even we’re in HK and the sms are expensive!!) telling him we’re in HK now and will be back on Tuesday, and I’m not attending. This friend of his kept sms back and asked how come I’m not going and this and that. FL thought of replying him when we’re back but this guy just kept sms-ing non stop!! Argggggg… People already told you they’re in HK and told you twice that only one person will attend, why still bugging ppl?

And guess what, the minute we turned on our phone when we reached LCCT on Tuesday, FL received a call from this guy AGAIN!! asking him why he didn’t reply his sms and why don’t I attend his dinner!! If this guy is my friend, I think I will tell him I’m not attending his dinner anymore lar, how can a guy be so ‘cheong hei’ one?? This is not finished yet.. 2 weeks before his wedding, he sms again asking me whether I got changed my mind or not, asked me I want to attend the dinner or not. This is really sooooo annoying! Nobody attend his wedding dinner izzit, how come he kept forcing ppl to attend? He even sms the day before the wedding to ask whether I want to attend or not.. damn geram!!

Have you encountered this before? Luckily, I don’t have this kind of friends.. else.. I don’t know what will I do to him…

ooo, My house smells soooo NICE!!

August 28th, 2008

Yesterday I suddenly felt like buying an oil burner. Ya, it’s just out of a sudden, when I was working, I just feel like I need to get one. So during lunch time, I skipped lunch and go giant to seek for my oil burner. (Not really skip lunch lar, tabao back to eat lar. hehe…)

I was thinking of getting the oil burner and the home fragrance oil from The Body Shop but it seems that the oil burner there are quite expensive. RM 60 per burner. If i really used it then ok lar, but what if I only 3 minutes heat? I always like that one wor, better don’t waste money. hehe..

Then suddenly I remembered I saw the oil burner at the 5 dollars shop (those shop where everything is RM 5), so I’ve decided to get the home fragrance oil from The Body Shop, and to get the oil burner at the RM 5 shop. wuahahahhaa..clever leh….

So here you go, this is my oil burner from the RM 5 shop… not bad right?

The Oil Burner, RM 5

and this is the home fragrance oil from the Body Shop, smells sweet.. hmmm..yummmy…..

Floral Passion home fragrance oil from The Body Shop, RM 19.90.

The sales personnel told me to just add 3 drops and add water, just 3 drops, I believe this small little bottle can used for a long long time…

Hmmm…my house now smells really nice la.. hehe.. can beat the smoke coming from downstairs!! yay!!

Wong Tai Sin (黄大仙)

August 27th, 2008

After our breakfast at the Fu Gwai Restorant (富贵餐厅), we started our journey to visit the famous Wong Tai Sin (黄大仙). We took the MTR from Yao Ma Tei station to the Wong Tai Sin Station, see, so famous until it got it’s own station!!

When we got out of the station, we followed the direction to go to Wong Tai Sin. Then we saw this…

They are waiting the shop to open!!

They are waiting the shop to open!! See, got policeman some more.. So few ppl only? Wait till you see the next photo!!

Seems like ppl are queuing to wait for the shop to open. What shop is that? Selling what? I’m not sure, all I know is that the shop is going to close down. By the way, HK shops open quite late, they only opened between 10:30am to 11am.

see the long queue? I never see such a long queue before!! The queue continues after the sky bridge!!

The main entrance

There were already a lot of people although it’s only 10am+. There are a lot of tourists and the weather was very hot. Beside the main entrance, there are shops selling joss sticks and joss papers. You can buy joss sticks with them but don’t buy the joss papers. Why? Because you are not allowed to burn these papers. So if you buy, you probably have to bring it home with you!!

I didn’t buy anything because I don’t think I can stand the the heat plus the smoke from the joss stick. I have a sincere heart, so no need lar. hehe.. Donation is better right? :p

We went in to ‘bai bai’ (拜拜) and decided to ‘kao qim’ (求签). I was about to give up after shaking the bamboo ‘qim’ for more that 5 minutes. Finally, a stick dropped out. They asked us to remember the number and told us we can get the ‘qim’ at the side of the temple. Alright then..

There are a lot of plants, waterfalls around but we just simply walk walk and look look. The weather is just so hot and walking under the hot sun is not really that comfortable. Finally we saw the place where we can get our ‘qim’. It’s a row of shops and you can get people to explain the ‘qim’ for you. Besides that, they can also do palm reading, face reading and etc.

FL picked a lady to explain the ‘qim’ for him. He got a not so good ‘qim’ and the lady can’t really speak Cantonese. I think she’s from china.. Anyway, i decided to pick another one, which is an old guy with long beard. I thought mine would explained clearer who knows.. I picked the one that had hearing problem. I need to shout to communicate with him. And this guy.. he doesn’t really wants to explain the ‘qim’ for me, why? You see, I’m actually asking for career (my friend told me ppl go wong tai sin to ask for marriage, how come i asked for career, hehe, how i know wor..) but he kept talking about marriage, ‘yan yun’ (姻缘).

I was so frusfrated and I told him I’m asking for CAREER and not MARRIAGE. Who knows he’s even more angry than me when he heard what i said and told me that i got a SUPER BAD ‘qim’ and nothing to be explained!! So so so so rude lar!!

How come he so interested in talking marriage, well, explain the ‘qim’ only can earn him HKD 20 but talking about marriage can earn him hundred of dollars leh.. Luckily i’m not stupid.. I peeped at his price list when he starts talking about marriage. hehe..

Anyway, I had an unpleasant morning there! Feels like being cheated, should have just take the ‘qim’ (HKD 2), instead of asking for explanation (HKD 20). We only spent about half an hour there, and we went to the shopping mall beside the temple to shop! I bought so many G2000 clothes there (almost HKD 1000), can you imagine, 50% and 70% discount for the whole shop!! Shopping really makes my mood better and I totally forgot what happened just now!!
