Are you done with your CNY shopping? If not? Wish you luck!!

February 3rd, 2010

I went to One Utama last weekend, hoping to get myself some cny clothes. I’m not greedy, just one or two tops will do. I was there early, about 12pm, normally i will go at 3pm+, but somehow i woke up early that day, so went early lar..

The car park was full, and the guard redirected all the cars to park at the outdoor car park. However, we somehow managed to park indoor, there’s a small road that leads to the indoor car park and we were very lucky to get a parking place in less than 5 minutes.

There were a lot of ppl, inside the shops, outside the shops, basically everywhere! I saw some nice clothes and wanted to try it on but when I looked at the queue in front of the fitting room, I decided to give up. All shops have long queue in front of their fitting rooms and cashier, and you need to squeeze like sardine when you go see the clothes. Oh my, how to shop like that? Totally no mood d…

So I ended up not buying anything and this year i got no new clothes to wear. ya, not even one.. hehe, actually it’s no big deal but then when I open up my wardrobe, I realized all I have is black, grey, and blue colors clothes. What do you think? Should I wear blue, or black or grey during the first day of cny?

For those who still wish to shop for cny stuff this weekend? I wish you luck lar, I bet this weekend will be worst than last weekend as this is the last weekend before CNY….

Starting a new business

February 3rd, 2010

I just met John for lunch just now and he told me he has big plans this year. He plans to start a new business. When I asked him what kinds of business he plans to do, he told me he plans to sell expensive car parts such as Ferrari parts. According to him, those who can afford these expensive cars will be willing to change their car parts even though it can still be used. Well, I don’t know much about car parts but I did wish him luck and hope he’ll success in the business.

A better alternative

February 3rd, 2010

David has been complaining to me that all his staff in his company has thousands or millions of emails in the stored in the email server. The email server is running out of space and he needs to ask his staff to delete off these emails or increase the storage size of the email server.

I told him to check out the email archiving services, it may help to solve his problem.

Get well soon

February 3rd, 2010

We just got to know that Kelly grandfather was diagnosed with Mesothelioma cancer 2 weeks ago. We don’t know much about Mesothelioma cancer, all we know is that the cancer is an asbestos caused cancer. We decided to gather more information related to Mesothelioma such as latest news on mesothelioma research and treatments for Kelly as a reference. Hopefully his grandfather will get well soon.

Shop Online

February 3rd, 2010

If you did go to the mall recently, you will definitely see the crowds. Chinese new year/Valentine’s day is just two weeks away and everyone is out for the last minute shopping. Firstly, you’ll stuck in the jam near the shopping mall area, then you probably need to spend another half an hour or 1 hour to find a parking place. After finding the parking place, you will then start to squeeze in the crowds to shop. No matter what you shop for, it will be such a long queue at the cashier.

Therefore, I will try to get everything I need online at buy.com, electrical stuff, gifts, musics, toys and etc. You’ll even get more benefits if you are one of their circuit city customers. Wanna avoid the traffic jams? Shop at buy.com.

Where is the Bonus??

January 28th, 2010

CNY is just around the corner. I guess this is the time where everyone is waiting for their bonuses and increments, that applies to me as well. However, this year I got news that there will be no bonus for us this year. My first reaction? Shit! no bonus? Already spend a lot before CNY and need to spend a lot some more during CNY, no bonus will be very cham la!! I think I’m not the only one that think that way, but seriously, there is nothing much that we can do.

Actually 99% confirmed no bonus d, but then I still blindly hoping for the 1% miracle. hehehe…..I want to see it with my own eyes then only I will accept the fact. hehe…stubborn rite? Reality is always cruel, so just let me dream…. dream for half yr bonus, one year bonus, two years bonus….

Since I’m dreaming already, please just drop one million cash from the sky, drop it in front of my house …hahahaha……

Please forgive me.. this is the “fatt chin kong” me…

A very good insurance plan

Every starts asking for the insurance agents contact and wish to meet up the agent to understand better.

Looking for mounts?

January 28th, 2010

When Susan invited all of us to her open house party last month, we all were attracted to her newly bought TV mounts. It is unique and we never saw that design at any other store before. Everyone asked her where she gets the mount. One of her guests even asked her to help to buy the exact same mount!

Susan told us she got it online with a very reasonable price. She gave us the url of the website and asked us to go check it out.

Get help from roadside assistance

January 28th, 2010

Sandy is back to work today after a long 2 weeks holiday. She said her road trip with her family was fun but something did happen during the trip. During the trip, their car broke down at roadside near a deserted town. It was getting dark and they were all very panicked, their phone signal was low too. Luckily, they weren’t so bad luck after all as they able to call and get roadside assistance after walking a mile away from their car to get a stronger phone signal. I’m just glad they are all fine.

Time to renew insurance!

January 28th, 2010

February is the busiest month for Sally as she needs to renew insurance for her whole family of 10 people. She decided to change to a new insurance company this year therefore she plans to get insurance quotes from a few insurance company before deciding which one to buy. I told her to get the quotes online instead of visiting each and every insurance company to save time. She agrees with me and started her research on the quotes.

Starting a business?

January 28th, 2010

Jimmy has a plan to start his own business next year but he can’t seem to make up his mind on what kind of business he plans to do. When he told me about this, I asked him to do some research on child franchise. Parents nowadays are willing to spend on their kids more than spending on themselves. Therefore he might get a lot of business opportunity if he ventures into the child business.

He said he will have a serious thought on this and thanked me for the suggestion.

Budget Constraint? Get a software to help.

January 28th, 2010

Due to the budget constraint, David’s company decided to hire a junior project manager instead of a senior project manager. However, the junior project manager is not experienced enough and can’t seem to meet the expectation of his boss. I told him to suggest his company to get a project management software, this may really help especially when the project manager is not so experienced.

He thanked me for the suggestion and said will suggest it to his boss.

The Arrival at the Hanoi Airport (Noi Bai) Vietnam

January 20th, 2010

It was a prompt decision when we booked for the Hanoi flight tickets during one of the the AirAsia free tickets promotion (erm, that was in year 2008. hehehehe….). We booked two tickets at first for ourselves, then FL called to ask his family whether they want to join or not. So we ended up booked another 6 tickets for them. It was 6 months before our departure date, 17 May 2009.

There were supposed to be 8 of us, but then his brother and his wife not able to make it, so 6 of us, here we go.. Hanoi….

I remembered it wasn’t a pleasant flight. The flight was full of Vietnamese, they don’t obey the rules, they talked very very loud, and they kept walking from the front to the end of the plane. It’s like we were the only ones that are not from Vietnam. I can’t sleep because they were too loud. It was the noisiest 3 hours flight experience that I’ve ever encountered.

The Hanoi Airport looks old and it’s not big either. Here’s the place we collect our baggage..it’s a mess, ppl blocking your way (don’t blame them, cos they got no where else to stand or sit), it’s difficult to get your luggage and etc…

their trolley, very hard to push also… hehe… maybe need some oil? hmm…

After we collected our baggage, we proceed to the hall. Because there were elderly and small kid, we decided to book for the hotel transfer instead of taking the public transportation ourselves. The hotel was booked under FL’s name, so we looked around for the hotel ppl with FL’s name then we saw one, hmm, it seems like it’s him, but he spelled FL’s name wrongly. We began to wonder, did he spell wrongly or there’s really another person under this name? hehe… Anyway, we decided to go check with him and this guy doesn’t speak English. hahahahahha, anyway, we showed him the hotel name and he said yes yes yes and so we decided to just follow him. Dangerous hor.. :p

this is the hotel guy that came picked us..

Unser.. a bad looking car but surprisingly comfortable and spacious even for the 6 of us.

On our way to hotel…

their toll…

this guy loves to horn.. he horned all the way from airport to the hotel.. I wonder why…. oh ya, did I mention he drove really really slow? I think approx 40km/h, it took almost 1 hour to reach the hotel. Maybe he wants us to enjoy the view? I don’t know.. I just think it’s way tooooooo slow….

Nice padi field…

don’t you think so?

their buildings are all slim and tall, very different from ours..

walao..see the wires?

Exercise daily

January 20th, 2010

Sally told me that she had been thinking of investing in a treadmill to be placed at her house. She said she used to go to the gym but ever since she changed job, she had no more time to go to the gym. She even needs to work during the weekend. Therefore she hopes by investing in a treadmill, she will be able to exercise everyday at her house.

A safe working environment

January 20th, 2010

David’s father is a very successful businessman and owns several construction companies. The reason his companies are successful and well known is because he not only promised good workmanship, he also ensures that his staff are working in a safe environment. Recently he even invest in fall protection systems so that his workers will have less chance getting injured. No wonder he developed such a good reputation as a good and responsible boss among the construction workers.

The Haiti Earthquake, so heart breaking…

January 16th, 2010

I seldom read newspaper or watch the news on the tv, the only place where I know about what’s going on now is through radio, I listened to the radio when I drive to work everyday. Anyway, I heard about the Haiti earthquake few days ago, I heard about how the buildings/houses collapsed, how many ppl got trapped and how many ppl dead / injured, I feel sad but there were no pictures shown so I can’t really picture how bad was that but when I read the newspaper just now, i was shocked, a picture is worth a thousand words, I can now imagine how bad it was.

It was on the front page of the newspaper, at first glance I thought thousands of injured ppl lying there on the road, waiting to be treated but when I read further, I realized I was wrong! These were not injured ppl, they were all earthquake victims waiting to be buried, all of them, lying there on the road. It was so sad and so heart breaking when I looked at those pictures.

What happened to our world? So many earthquakes, snow storm, and the other disasters, it’s like one after another. ~sigh.. There’s really nothing much that I can do but to contribute a little bit to the Haiti earthquake victims.

Let’s hope tomorrow will be a better day.

January 16th, 2010

It has been quite a while since we last saw Sandy. When we saw her during lunch last weekend, we were shocked. She looked slim and beautiful. We asked her did she go for a slimming treatment, she told us all she did is some diet pills. She had tried a few, such as lipozene and etc, therefore she also not sure which one works the best. We’re so happy to meet her up after so long and she really looks amazing!
