Have you seen a lift before? What about a lift in a double storey terrace house?
August 19th, 2008 | by jys |Remember I wrote about my neighbor that planned to install a lift in her double storey terrace house? Well, when I was back to my hometown 2 weeks ago, I finally managed to see this lift. Seriously, I NEVER see a lift in a double storey terrace house before, have you?
The lift is being installed in her kitchen, frankly speaking, it doesn’t really look like a lift, it looked like a door to me, come see for yourself!
This lift can only carry 3 person and it will go straight up to her father’s room. Very convenient. It is not very noisy when the lift is operating and according to my neighbour it is not consuming too much of electricity too. The lift installation ppl told her that her house is the 2nd house that they installed (lift) in my hometown.
So how much it costs to install this lift? Well, the lift itself costs about RM 80K and altogether they spent about RM 100K (renovation, tiles and etc). Is that all? No, the lift need maintenance. Even though you don’t used the lift, you still need to maintain it. You need to pay about RM 200 for the maintenance fees (you can opt for per month, or every 3 months). Ya.. costly!!
So if you are rich and you are lazy to climb the stairs, install a lift!!

aaahh meehh… it’s surprised me on how lazy a rich guy can be… lazy enough to climb double storey terrace house… huhu
Jys:
haha, you should take a look at the link which I talked about why they wanted to have a lift in their house. they installed the lift is for their father, their father is not capable to climb up the stairs to go to his room, that is the reason they installed the lift.
