Have you start using recycle shopping bag?

October 28th, 2008 | by jys |

It has been a while I’ve seen hypermarket/supermarket selling recycle shopping bag to reduce the usage of plastic bags. I always wanted to get one but to me, all these recycle shopping bags are rather small. How many shopping bags I need to buy if I buy one full trolley? Besides small, it’s also kind of ugly lar. hehe.. Have you seen those bags at giant or jusco? Jusco selling Rm 4.90 for that bag some more..hehe, ya ya, i know recycle mar, the outlook is not important..but still, i can’t help to notice that. :p

Anyway, I was at One Utama last Sunday and I went to shop for some groceries at their newly open Cold Storage. When I was about to pay at the cashier, I saw their recycle shopping bag. Hey, it’s nice, it’s big and it’s cheap!! Wow!!

Recycle shopping bag from Cold Storage, RM 2.70

See, it's quite big if u compared to other recycle shopping bags from other supermarket/hypermarket.

Not bad right?

If you too looking for big and cheap and nice looking recycle shopping bag, go get one at cold storage, so far this is the nicest and cheapest recycle shopping bag i’ve seen lar. :)

I use the recycling bag I get from Matta Fair.
Every year can get around 10 of them.
Just spend 3 hours going through a big crowd.
And grad every single brouchuer you find, people will give you one bag after another.

I just went to Damai Laut and came back using only Matta Fair recycle bags.
    Free and convenient.

So use Matta Fair Recycling bag.
    I love free … :P

I think I got one (a black color bag) from the Matta Fair last year. But it’s quite small and thin leh. I think if carry heavy stuff the tali will putus lar! hehe..

    I got mine from Giant.
But I have been stopped by the security guards twice at Giant for bringing in the bag. They told me to leave the bag at the counter. WTF

    Jys:
that’s very funny lar, they asked ppl to use recycle bags but then don’t allow ppl to leave the bag outside? Then how to use?

Towns and cities across the country have adopted innovative programs that reward citizens for recycling. In Everett, Mass., residents have been offered financial rewards for recycling, and the average household now recycles 10 times more

    Jys:
Ya, this should be the way to encourage more ppl to recycle. I hope my country will do the same too, to reward their citizens who recycle.
