Within or After???
February 20th, 2009 | by jys |This morning, I applied the Public Bank’s fixed deposit online. After I clicked submit, there’s some notes underneath the page which asked me to collect the FD cert WITHIN 2 working days. So during lunch, I went over to the branch to collect (just behind my office). When I showed them the reference no, they said I should come and collect AFTER 2 working days.
Correct me if i’m wrong, within means to collect not later than 2 working days starts from today and after means to collect it 2 days later!! They should changed their website from WITHIN to AFTER lar..

u should complain to them so their marketing people need to be told of the error. since it’s their fault, u can make them send to you on register post. all their T&C ought to be approved by legal so there’s no excuse for misprint on T&C.

well, one thing lucky is that the bank is just behind my office. I don’t need to purposely drive there and I also don’t need to take leave just to collect the cert.
I did told them the website stated WITHIN and not after, the staff (luckily she’s quite polite, else I will be lagi geram) and did check for me, but still asked me to go collect next week.

I use Maybank FD online, I never go and collect the cert… haha!! I thought that is not necessary right?
Jys:
Maybank & CIMB both, if you apply online, there will be no cert issued. everything is online, withdraw also online. but for public bank, it’s not fully online. They let u apply online, but u still need to go collect the cert, and the withdrawal needs to be done over the counter.
