Will you leave a comment?
September 29th, 2009 | by jys |There are a few blogs that I visit whenever I am free. I found their blog posts interesting and quite often I feel like leaving a comment to tell them what I think about the things they wrote. As a blogger myself, I know they welcome comments and love it when ppl leave a comment on their site. But as soon as I leave my comment there, I regretted. Why? I started to receive email notifications whenever ppl leave a comment on that particular post.
I don’t remember I chose to get email notifications when I posted my comment there. Some blogs even worst, you leave your comment on posting A and you will get email notifications from all other postings whenever ppl leaves comments. How annoying!!
I am not sure this is a default feature in wordpress or not, so please, if my blog does the same thing (gets email notifications although you never asked for it), please please please let me know. I know it is sooo annoying and I will definitely find a way to get rid of it.

I truly understand how you feel and that is why everytime I leave comments, I will make sure that the email notification is unticked..If not..just get ready la for the spam in your email..heheh

I thought it is a good way to interact with the site owner? probably he/she replied your message and so you can leave your comments after that.

well, it depends, some ppl wish to receive notifications if the owner replied but some doesn’t. So for those who doesn’t wish to receive email notifications, auto notify whenever a comment is posted is really quite annoying!

I received a lot of emails too when I comment in JSKit! How about the Intense Debate in my blog?

i do like to receive notification if someone reply to my comment…
but not someone left a comment to da post! imagine da post receive 324329532 comments and there will be 324329532 notification in ur mailbox! =.=

ya, if you chose to receive notification, then it’s fine. but when u dowan the notification but u kept receiving it, then it’s super frustrated..
