There are a few blogs that I visit whenever I am free. I found their blog posts interesting and quite often I feel like leaving a comment to tell them what I think about the things they wrote. As a blogger myself, I know they welcome comments and love it when ppl leave a comment on their site. But as soon as I leave my comment there, I regretted. Why? I started to receive email notifications whenever ppl leave a comment on that particular post.

I don’t remember I chose to get email notifications when I posted my comment there. Some blogs even worst, you leave your comment on posting A and you will get email notifications from all other postings whenever ppl leaves comments. How annoying!!

I am not sure this is a default feature in wordpress or not, so please, if my blog does the same thing (gets email notifications although you never asked for it), please please please let me know. I know it is sooo annoying and I will definitely find a way to get rid of it.

Let me know ya…

The version of wordpress I downloaded and installed on my blog was 2.6.3. A week after I installed, I saw an upgraded version of wordpress. I’m a person who likes to use up to date stuff so I decided to upgrade. But as soon as I know upgrade is not that easy (you have to backup all the files, backup the db, then replace the new version with the old one and reactivate all your plugins and themes), I gave up.

Recently wordpress had released version 2.7 and I heard there’s a lot of things changed. Cool dashboard, new features and the thing that makes me want to upgrade is they have this auto update feature, which means, I had to suffer one last time to upgrade my 2.6.3 to 2.7 and next time, upgrade to new version will be as simple as a click on the mouse. Cool right?

So i downloaded the 2.7, backup all my files and started to replace my old files with the new files. Then when I’m done, I entered the path to access my admin page, I saw ERROR!! 500 Internal Server Error!! Oh my god, what happened? I tried to change this and that, search the Internet (quite a number of ppl having this problem but there’s no solution?) and after a few hours later, I decided to restore back my old files. Guess what? It doesn’t work either!! My blog totally cannot access and I really have no idea what went wrong!

Argggg, I started to regret, why why why I go update to new version. And then suddenly after trying different ways, it works! I finally see the admin page again!! What have I changed? The permission!! You have to change all the folders and files permission! Why didn’t I think of this earlier!!

Phew, FINALLY!!!! Anyway, although I’ve went through a lot of troubles in upgrading but I’m still glad that I’ve upgraded to 2.7. Have you upgrade yours? Have fun.. and I hope yours will be less troubles!

A lot of my readers asked me how come I stopped posting about my HK trip? Well, I didn’t plan to stop for so long, it’s just that I’m having some problems with my pictures. What is the problem? All my pictures size are rather big and although it looks nice and clear on the site but it makes my site loads very slow. A lot of people complaint about it and I decided to resize my pictures before I upload it.

So I’ve searched and tried a few software (including some wordpress plugins), although I’m able to resize the pictures, add watermarks on it and my site loads fast, but the picture quality is very bad, especially those night views!! You guys got any recommendation for me? A simple and nice and easy tool to resize, add watermarks to pictures and most importantly the quality of the pictures still there?

Please let me know if you have any, thank you thank you!!
